Members of the London Welsh Bowling Association visited Cardiff on Saturday to meet a side representing Cardiff and District Private Greens Association in six rinks match on the Rhiwbina Club's green. On their arrival at Cardiff the visitors were met by the officials of the local organisation and taken to the City-hall, where they were given a civic welcome by the Lord Mayor (Alderman A. E.
Gough) and the Lady Mayoress. Although beaten in the match by 136- 98, the visitors played well, their most successful rink Anishing 12 up-26-14. The success of this rink was probably due to the fact that all four players were clubmates, members of the Clapham Junction Welsh team. At the conclusion of the match the visitors were entertained to tea B. Davis, in extending a welcome to the Private Greens Association, Mr.
the Recreation-hall. The president (HA5 Londoners, referred to the fact that their president, Mr. W. J. Thomas, was an old resident of Cardiff, and for three years was a member of the Cardiff Club.
He expressed the hope of the fixture being an annual event. Mr. W. J. Thomas, in reply, extended an invitation to the Private Greens Association to send a team to London next season.
